Artfagcity and the role of the internet in contemporary art

Check out this great short post from our friends over at ARt Fag City.

Taking Stock of Art Making in The Age of “I’m A Child of The Internet”

First of all the beginning of this post is right on. Paddy is totally right when she says, “Nothing discredits artists quicker than adopting mantras that mean absolutely nothing to their practice. A note to young practitioners using “I’ve grown up with the Internet” as an accolade: Don’t do it.”

Fer real. If you are going to say something in your artist’s statement, make it say SOMETHING!!!

Ok. Also she brings up some interesting thoughts about how the internet is actually changing the way we think about art.

Keep it real Paddy. Keep it real.

Stumble it!
